Hire your own vigilantes! Not enough police to guard churches & convent schools.

KUALA LUMPUR: Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan has advised churches to tighten security at their premises because there are not enough policemen to guard every one of them.

I can't remember where I got this breakdown of police personnel numbers from. I think it's from one of the Opposition blogs. So, don't quote me on accuracy.

But if this is anywhere near the truth, then why do you need 38% of your people in "management" (ie. 1 manager for every 2 policemen)?

And what are the 40,608 Internal Security personnel doing now, besides protecting politicians and in the case of the FRU, staying in their barracks until the next Opposition candlelight vigil?

There are not enough police?
