Namewee shouldn't apologise for his rap until UMNO apologises for their racist shit

I just read on Malaysiakini that namewee has apologised.

I won't comment on whether the lyrics about discrimination and inept govt is uncalled for, whether the use of the Negaraku as the basis of his rap was disrespectful or whether his lyrics about Malays and Islam was seditious.

Like I said earlier (Negarakuku in deep doo-doo), you need to make up your own mind about what's seditious and what's not.

But I do believe wholeheartedly that ANYBODY who demonised namewee, but did not similarly speak out against the blatantly seditious UMNO speeches (Why isn't UMNO subject to same laws as bloggers?) during the 2006 General Assembly... should just shut the hell up and crawl back into whatever swamp they came from. These people have no right to speak, be outraged or offended - as they gave it all up by keeping quiet (some even stated their support) when UMNO spouted their filth on live TV.

Damn, talk about the pot calling the kettle black. It's okay to talk about stabbing one community and bathing in their blood, but it's NOT okay to rap about widely-held, existing stereotypes about another community?!

So, I reckon namewee should retract his apology to those who are 'offended' until UMNO apologises to those they have offended.

Or until those who were 'offended' by namewee's shit, apologise first for NOT being offended earlier about UMNO's GA2006 shit.

Alternatively, namewee might want to invoke the mighty logic of my hero, KJ the Deputy UMNO Youth leader... that you are NEVER WRONG if you are FIGHTING for your RACE!

Namewee's 'apology' on his blog:

Hello, Semua Orang Melayu sila tengok sini

For UMNO, this is outright bullying on Namewee. It is akin to the giant Goliath towering over the little David with the "or else" threat. For all the seditious statements made against the non-Malays, UMNO is projecting itself as nothing more than HYPOCRISY personified!

In the first place, UMNO and those who are brandishing their kris against Namewee should ask whether the contents of the rap in that video are trur or false. Is there not discrimination by UMNO against other races albeit hidden by the NEP label ? Is there not subtle discrimination of other religions by UMNO ? Can anybody (of course except UMNO) believe that most of the UMNO members who are in places of authority are not corrupt? ,,,a nd the list goes on.

Traditionally the govt. which is UMNO, leaders have no subtance to respond to many allegations of inpropriety, whether such allegations are from Namewee or from leaders and authoritative figures of other countries. All these idiot UMNO leaders have been doing and will continue to do is use cliches like 'sensitive', 'seditious' 'anti-Islam' and others to cow and bully people who point out the glaring and blatant discriminatory acts of UMNO towards non-bumi Malaysians.

Although in my opinion Namewee's choice of using the national anthem was unwise, the degree of furore and threats by UMNO is overboard.

Honestly, UMNO is nothing but a big bully, cry-baby filled with shameful acts which, not only non-bumi Malaysians despise and have no respect for, but other countries are laughing at us.

UMNO leaders, take a look at yourself in the mirror and see if there is any maruah in your faces. All you may see is a weakling with no backbone.

Very well said guys... countering an attack with another attack... very phylosophical and rhetoric...

Well, why not rage a war rather than talk... and talk... and talk... a never ending talk... or otherwise... move 'back' to the original country... which ever that maybe...

I'm not sure about the Malaysian law, having studied overseas. Generally, a defence to claims of defamation is 'truth'; meaning if one can prove the truth in the rap singer's lyrics, there can be no action.

I'd like to see some falseness proven first before my country takes an action against an individual for no other seeming reason than mere whim.

UMNO and Malay is always deemed to be together. The question is a political party should not be determined by racial protection but the ability to manage the country. This polical mindset will bring problem and exhaust themselves with all the problems to solve because wrongdoings are covered up and much pain is inflicted to the people. Modern malay should know this and please wake up and do the right thing. Thumbs up for new Malay standing on their own feet!!
