Why isn't UMNO subject to same laws as bloggers?

Politicians don't like bloggers...

Something is wrong with laws that can charge a man for speaking against the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, Islam and race relations, but let’s him go free when he writes seditiously on the Internet.

"We don’t understand why the law is like this. You cannot say it, but you can write it. Something is wrong," - Umno information chief Muhammad Muhammad Taib. - (NST).

Also see: 'Bloggers, netizens must behave like adults' - (NST), 'Be a real man about blogging if you can' - (Malaysiakini) and ‘No one enjoys total immunity' - (NST)
Amid these refreshed political calls for controls on bloggers - based on the premise that bloggers cannot be allowed to say something inflammatory and get away with it - Raja Petra Kamaruddin of Malaysia-Today is right.

The govt, and specifically UMNO has NO MORAL STANDING whatsoever to call for action against bloggers.

The most seditious, inflammatory and hatred-driven statements of all were made by UMNO politicians. And the likes of UMNO Youth are still making them, even now. Day in, day out, and to the press. If UMNO is allowed to get away with sedition and the incitement of hatred, how can any action against bloggers be justified?!
The following damning statements are excerpts from the UMNO General Assembly 2006 that was broadcasted LIVE on national TV & ASTRO:

"Please, don't test the Malays; in another word that they know 'amok'. We don't want to reach that level!"

"Umno is willing to risk lives and bathe in blood to defend the race and religion. Don't play with fire. If they messed with our rights, we will mess with theirs!"

"Datuk Hisham has unsheathed his keris, waved his keris, kissed his keris. We want to ask Datuk Hisham, when is he going to use it?"

I CHALLENGE YOU BOTH TO ADMIT THAT THE ABOVE STATEMENTS ARE NOT SEDITIOUS BY NATURE!

Malaysia-Today, also previous blogpost: UMNO up to Old Tricks. Sama saja Dulu dan Sekarang.
Therefore, unless the UMNO and its leaders are charged with the same sedition, ISA and publishing laws as bloggers and a son-in-a-law or two gets thrown in jail - Malaysians have no choice but to call a spade a spade. That double standards and the blatant abuse of power and law enforcement is rampant at the highest levels in this country.

They are classified as somewhere between the Mafia and Saddam Hussein. So don't ever mess with them, not even for 2 sens worth!

You mean these UMNO Types are hypocritical? I thought these are pious people who pray 5 times a day and god fearing.

Hey....Saddam also prayed 5 times a day!

Praying 5 times a day is probably not enough to obtain Allah's forgiveness for all the sins they've committed.
