Hey JAIP, you bastards missed a few.

22 year old nightclub singer Siti Noor Idayu Abd Moin was detained by the Perak Religious Department (JAIP) at a nightclub in Tambun. The department ordered the singer to explain why she had "exposed her body" during a performance and "encouraged immoral activities" by working at a nightclub that serves alcohol.

Refer to Malaysiakini for the story and TheStar for Perak Mufti Harussani's "words of wisdom".

Siti said she wasn't drinking and was in a white sleeveless top and long pants. Apparently JAIP photographed her from "almost every angle" (ref TheSun... you'll want to read their feisty editorial as well). For more voyeuristic exploitation go here:- Religious raid party videos naked girl, and keeps her naked while recording.

And here's Siti. She's rather fetching I admit, but "exposed her body" and "encouraged immoral activities"? Really? How?

And hey JAIP, you fuckers missed a few!

Namely Ning, Anita, Sheila and Tiara. (Photos and concept originally posted by kafir on Ipoh forums). Let's be consistent and raid the performances of these well-connected ladies too.

Hi zm,

Perhaps you can read about my writing on this as well, especially about the tainted money thing.

Technically, you're a bastard too for using the same 'vulgar' language.

And for needlessly dissing someone's father and mother, I guess that deserves a minimum of fucking bastard.

But going back to the discussion... since "kelab malam & similar places" are not for Muslims, how come you don't mind enjoying the profits from gambling, liquor and nightspots, the taxation of which partly pays for the MARA programmes, residential schools, the GLCs (and hence their overwhelmingly Muslim employee base), funding the activities of countless bumi organisations, and funding the very religious departments themselves?

Hey can somebody explain why you can find many middle eastern men wearing tight fitting short-sleeve shirt & especially jeans that followed by burga-clad wives & kids tagging behind? Plenty of this phenomenon in Bukit Bintang.

JAIP is doing its job, because this is a Muslim country, I pay my tax & zakat as a muslim to see that such places not visited by Muslim. Those clubs shouldn't hire muslims and turn away musilm customers anyway.

The reason night clubs exist or being tolerated is because muslims in Malaysia is still compromising with nonmuslim, I sincerely hope its being taxed & regulated into oblivion.

Really don't understand what non-muslim want night clubs anyway, it promotes decadence & encourage unruly behaviors among the patrons. Which is really just bad in general.

Big fish small fish. Its endless debate isn't it? Tackle the easiest & the most numerous first.

>>>>>Hang on a minute there buster... or is it Najib? Since when is this a Muslim country? It might have a muslim majority in West Malaysia, but it not a Muslim country by far. Or have you not read the constitution? Having a national religion and having a country run by religion are 2 entirely different things.>>>>>

Those clubs shouldn't hire muslims and turn away musilm customers anyway.

>>>>This is one of the main problems. Clubs shouldn't have to "turn away" anyone. Muslims should find the willpower and wherewithal within themselves to turn themselves away.

It's like how we handle the matter of pork in this country. Muslims expect pork to be kept away from them at all times. But doesn't the holy book tell Muslims to keep themselves away from pork? One's passive, the other's active. Tell me which one is more meaningful in the pursuit of piety.>>>>>

The reason night clubs exist or being tolerated is because muslims in Malaysia is still compromising with nonmuslim, I sincerely hope its being taxed & regulated into oblivion.

>>>>>See... that is the crux of the problem.

You believe that your way is the only way, and that any departure from that is a "compromise" with non-Muslims.

Non-muslims see it differently. You have your way, and we have ours. You stand on your side, and we stand on ours.

As for being taxed into oblivion, that's not going to happen. The taxes are feeding the govt, religious authorities included. To do away with them is fiscal suicide>>>>>

Really don't understand what non-muslim want night clubs anyway, it promotes decadence & encourage unruly behaviors among the patrons. Which is really just bad in general. That is your limited worldview.

>>>>>A person who has witnessed the Lal Mosque fiasco in Pakistan, or the religious school / county mosques system in the UK could well end up with a conclusion that mosques encourages terrorism and militancy.

Don't label and stereotype others. They can do the same to you just as easily.>>>>>

Big fish small fish. Its endless debate isn't it? Tackle the easiest & the most numerous first.

>>>>>That policy is fine if you're running a business or doing gotong royong.

But when you're trying to assert moral enforcement or convince others of the righteousness of your course, you have NO CHOICE other than to be absolutely consistent, have no exceptions whatsover and practice exactly what you preach.

And we're not seeing that in the local religious authorities.>>>>>

OK, I hear you.

So here's some advice for the moral police.

SIT DOWN, SHUT UP.

SIT UP, SHUT DOWN.

Either way, it's good advice.
